1. Are Ninth Wave products suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. All of our formulas are free from synthetic fragrance, harsh sulphates, parabens, and alcohols. We prioritise skin-compatible ingredients and test for sensitivity across skin types.

2. What skin types are your products suitable for?

Our range is formulated for all skin types, including dry, oily, combination, and sensitive skin. Each product is designed to hydrate, protect, and support the skin barrier without clogging pores or causing irritation.

3. Are your products Vegan or Organic?

Transparency matters to us — and we know there’s plenty of noise out there when it comes to “vegan” and “organic” claims.

At Ninth Wave Skin Co., our products are cruelty-free and mostly vegan, crafted using naturally derived and predominantly organic ingredients. The exception is our Night Cream, which contains marine collagen — included over vegan collagen simply due to its performance as a restorative, ocean-sourced active.

We use a high proportion of organically grown botanicals where possible, alongside lab-synthesised vitamins and natural preservatives for safety and stability.

We don’t believe in overstating our claims. Please be wary of falsehoods. Some brands call themselves “100% organic” or “fully vegan” when their formulas simply aren’t. We prefer honesty over hype. Every ingredient we use has a clear purpose: to prepare, protect and repair your skin for life under the Australian sun.

4. What makes your marine ingredients effective?

Marine extracts like red algae, bladderwrack, and sea buckthorn are rich in antioxidants, polysaccharides, and trace minerals. These compounds help hydrate, firm, and protect the skin at a cellular level — making them ideal for long-term skin health.

5. Is your sunscreen reef-safe?

We don’t use the chemical UV filters (like oxybenzone or octinoxate) that are commonly associated with potential reef and marine concerns. Our mineral-based formulas use non-nano zinc oxide and are made without silicones, parabens, or synthetic UV filters. While no sunscreen can be guaranteed “reef safe” in every environment, our approach is to formulate as responsibly as possible with ingredients that minimise impact on oceans and coastal ecosystems.

6. Can I use Ninth Wave products with other skincare brands?

Yes. Our products are designed to be compatible with other clean, non-sensitising skincare routines. However, you’ll see the best results when used together as a complete system.

7. Where are your products made?

All products are developed and made in Australia under strict formulation standards. While we source ingredients globally, our manufacturing process meets Australian quality and sustainability guidelines.

8. Do you use synthetic fragrance or essential oils?

No synthetic fragrance is used in any product. We use only subtle, functional essential oils in select formulations — never as the primary scent.

9. How should I build a basic skincare ritual?

We recommend starting with three core steps:

Prepare - every morning with First Point facial cleanser and Dawn Patrol daily moisturiser.

Protect - apply Ninth Wave mineral Zinc Lite to minimise UV damage.

Repair - Use a combination of First Point cleanser and Deepwater Scrub to clean the skin. Apply After Sun night moisturiser to assist in supporting your skin's natural growth.

10. What is your packaging made from?

We use PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastic for all product packaging to reduce waste and environmental impact. Our shipping materials are also recyclable and plastic-free where possible.
